White Fillings

White fillings, also called composite fillings, may restore decayed or damaged tooth. Their white color makes this possible.

Many New York cosmetic dentists like Dr. Bram prefer white fillings over the traditional metal fillings. This is because the mercury in amalgam fillings is seen as potentially toxic. In addition, white composite look better and are resistant to fracture.

LIKE TYPICAL SILVER FILLINGS, AND UNLIKE PORCELAIN CROWNS, WHITE FILLINGS MAY BE PREPARED AND PLACED IN JUST ONE VISIT.

HOW DR. BRAM DOES IT

DR. BRAM WILL FIRST REMOVE THE DECAYED PORTION OF YOUR TOOTH. ONCE IT IS THOROUGHLY CLEANED, HE WILL APPLY A MILD ACID SOLUTION. THIS IS TO GETCHH THE SURFACE OF THE TOOTH IN NEED OF FILLINGS.

AFTER THE ETCHING, HE WILL THEN BRUSH A BONDING AGENT ON IT. THIN LAYERS OF THE TOOTH-COLORED COMPOSITE WILL FOLLOW. ONCE THE COMPOSITE FILLING IS PLACED, DR. BRAM WILL USE A SPECIAL LIGHT TO HARDEN THE MATERIAL.
IF YOU WANT TO FIX A TOOTH DEFECT OR TO STOP CAVITY FROM DAMAGING IT, WHITE FILLINGS MAY BE THE RIGHT OPTION FOR YOU. WE WANT TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE PROPERLY RESTORED AND HEALTHIER TEETH.
