Implant Dentistry is becoming the procedure of choice for patients seeking long term endurance of restorative dental components and/or establishing dental function that in many cases, Mother Nature doesn't even provide.
In our office, Dr. Bram uses a variety of proven implant technologies for replacing individual teeth, replacing several teeth, creating implant anchors for premium bridges and the now popular use of standard implants for anchoring dentures and advanced prosthodontics.
Implants - Unsurpassed Endurance and Function
While it is well known that implants certainly have a creative element for recreating smiles or dental function.... the technical aspects of implants are often overlooked. Put another way... the application of certain implant procedures combined with the "correct" implant materials is what determines how successful the treatment will be.. and how long it endures.
The goal for Dr. Bram is to assure his patients that the implant procedure precisely match the cosmetic and reconstructive goal of the patient. Nobel Biocare, well known for it's implant technologies, is aware of the differences of
patient need and thereby provides a wide variety of implant materials that are suited for particular applications.
Implant Dentistry - One Size Does Not Fit All
When considering dental implants, it is important to know the different types of implant materials used for anterior (front) tooth replacement, implants for anchoring various types of bridgework and implant elements for posterior (back) teeth and molars.
It should be understood there is no "one size fits all" concept in the use of implant devices.

This critical matching process of technology and application is closely monitored by Dr. Bram to assure implant patients maximum benefit of cosmetic result .... and perhaps more importantly... long term endurance. Reported failures of implants are usually attributed to poor matching.
Providing choices and the information needed for making an informed decision about dental treatment is a primary goal of Dr. Bram... for every single patient. Our office assures patients a variety of treatment choices based on their individual needs and the degree of cosmetic and functional result desired.
The patient is a 40-something male who had a significant history of dental problems. Although a variety of procedures and treatment plans were discussed that would provide different degrees of cosmetic and functional result... the patient considered dental implants to be the best procedure.
The first photo in this series shows the lower jaw several weeks after the implants and abutments were placed.
Osseointegration (mandibular bone growth incorporates the implant into the jawbone) has been completed.
Implant Post - Abutment Selection
The second photo shows the selective use of dental implant materials. Notice how the posterior areas have been prepared with telescoping abutments while the anterior (front) area of the mandible shows the use of another type of implant technology.
The rear biting surfaces typically bear more physical forces (chewing and grinding), compared to the
front anterior teeth. Selecting the correct type of implant device assures minimization of failure in implanted molars.
The anterior implants are optimally suited for the size and dental function that is normally associated for these more narrow implants.
Implant Completion
The third and forth photos refect the final insertion of the dental implants and the final cosmetic result. As can be seen in the 3rd photo especially, our patient has regained optimal bite, occlusion and overall dental function.

The patient reported that he particulary enjoys being able to eat just about anything he wants and is able to smile broadly now... with the confidence that comes with great looking teeth that feel better than what he started out with.
